For the sustainable development of the socio-social conditions of the neglected poor people, not only small investment programs but also other social development activities to improve the quality of life are undeniable. It is true that the financial status of people has improved but in most cases due to the absence of social development activities, there is no sustainable improvement in the quality of life of the marginal people.
The main objective
The main objective of the Samriddhi program is to promote human dignity by improving the standard of living of every family in the union. Ensuring that a family makes the best use of its current resources and capabilities and undertaking initiatives to increase resources and capabilities through proper planning.
Under the Samriddhi program of PKSF, small loans are being given to poor families starting from beggars in the remote areas of the country, as well as the construction of culverts, small culverts, sanitary latrines, and tube wells with union funds. Again, the children of poor people are being taught. This is improving the quality of life of poor people.
There is one health assistant for every 500 households. They hold regular yard meetings and give health advice. According to Banbeis data, the dropout rate at the primary level in the country is 11 percent. However, in the unions under the program, this rate is 10.5 percent as different types of teaching techniques have been introduced in the schools of these places. In this Program, the students complete their lesson in the afternoon of the day before tomorrow's study. It removes the fear of students.
Under this program, family-based micro-loans are being provided without targeting the individual, so that the quality of life of the entire family is improved. Loans are being given even for the purchase of mosquito nets or coatings, the expenses of seeking a job in Dhaka, or the marriage of a daughter.
Loans up to Rs.10 lakh are given, with interest rates below 20 percent. Loans to beggars have also started in 2013. Loans are up to a maximum of one lakh taka.
